Brunswick Group has handled the most M&A work in the UK by deal count and deal value last year, new research shows.

The value of deals handled by Brunswick in 2025 was $195.3bn, up 96.8 per cent on the previous year, according to media analysis and data company Mergermarket.

FGS Global was in second place. The value of deals handled by FGS in the UK in 2025 was $126.6bn, up by 3.8 per cent on the same period in 2024.

H/Advisors jumped from fifth place in 2024 to third position in 2025, seeing its value of deals increase by 31.9 per cent to $53.5bn, while ICR Inc took fourth place, increasing from 13th in the ranking in 2024, with $43.4bn in deal value.

Fifth-placed FTI recorded an 8.6 per cent decrease to $41.5bn.

Notably, Edelman jumped 11 places, moving from 20th in 2024 to ninth in the 2025 ranking, rising from $5.1bn to $33.4bn.

Brunswick was ranked first by number of deals in the UK, with 103 handled in 2025, a rise from the 101 handled in 2024.

It was closely followed in the table by FGS Global (up four to 102 deals), FTI Consulting (down five to 82), H/Advisors (down seven to 80) and Prosek Partners (up three to 58).

Global rankings

FGS Global handled the most M&A deals by both value and volume globally in 2025, with 527 deals worth $1,148.8bn.

Joele Frank took second place by value, with 256 deals with a total value of $890.8bn this year.

Brunswick moved from second place to third in the ‘rankings by value’ table, with 220 deals at $734.9bn.

ICR Inc ranked fourth by value of deals, with 184 deals at $283.1bn.

Prosek Partners ranked fifth ($242.2bn), H/Advisors ranked sixth (down 7.3 per cent to $219.0bn), FTI was seventh ($212.2bn). Edelman, previously 14th in the ranking in 2024, rose to eighth in the table ($199.7bn).

By volume, Prosek Partners held on to the second spot, with 374 deals worth $242.2bn. H/Advisors, which came in third place, handled 308 deals, a rise of 25.

Europe rankings

FGS Global also took the top spot in the Europe rankings, both by value ($388.0bn) and volume (229) of M&A transactions handled in 2025.

Brunswick retained second place with the value of deals handled by the agency at $366.2bn in 2025. H/Advisors once again came in third at $155.0bn, and Joele Frank held onto fourth in the ranking as the value of deals handled by the agency was $99.4bn.

H/Advisors was second in the table of deals by volume (209), ahead of Brunswick Group (165), and Prosek Partners, which moved from sixth to fourth as the number of deals it handled increased by 13 from 119 to 132.

US rankings

FGS Global held on to the top spot by value of deals in this region at $909.8bn, and the deal count was 343. Second-placed Joele Frank handled 250 of M&A deals in 2025 worth $864.4bn, and third-placed Brunswick handled 107 worth $481.8bn. 

FGS Global led the table by transaction volume (with 343, up two on its number of deals in 2024), Prosek Partners was second (with 305, down by 34 on the number of deals in 2024), with Joele Frank in third place, handling 250 deals, up nine from its count the previous year.

Ireland rankings

In Ireland, Brunswick took the top of the ranking by deal value ($6.712bn with 6 deals).
